THORPE HESLEY VILLAGE CHOIR: Meeting every Wednesday in school term-time from 7-9pm at The Trinity Centre, located adjacent to Holy Trinity Church, Sough Hall Avenue, Thorpe Hesley, Rotherham. Adults of all ages welcome.

 

THORPE HESLEY WI: The March meeting saw a presentation by Adrian Eggleston (ex-South Yorkshire Police) entitled DNA and Forensics. He also judged the Easter bonnet competition. Next month’s meeting on April 6 in the Trinity Centre will be a barn dance.

JUNIOR CRAFT CLUB: The club met in the Trinity Centre recently and made flower arrangements for Mother’s Day. They were also busy knitting gifts for Easter. The group meets every Tuesday, contact the Trinity Centre for details.

  

GOLD AND SILVER – Gold and Silver meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Holy Trinity 1.30pm. New members are always welcome. Easter bonnet this month.

 

LOCAL HISTORY GROUP: Local historian and environmentalist Mel Jones will give a talk entitled Humps and Bumps: Some Unusual Archaeological Features of the Thorpe Hesley and Scholes Area on March 16 at Thundercliffe Grange 7.30pm.

 

THORPE HESLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL: Pupils celebrated World Book Day. The whole school dressed up as their favourite book characters. Last week a fire engine is coming into school to tell the Foundation children how important it is to be fire aware.
