FUNDRAISING FAMILY FUN DAY: September 19 – at Upper Haugh Cricket Club. The event has been organised for Jonathan Bates who was involved in a motorbike accident near his home in Worsborough in February. Having spent five months in the spinal injuries unit in Sheffield, Jonathan is now home. The event will consist of a 20:20 cricket match between CTL Seal (Ecclesfield) and SMD who will be travelling from Newcastle to participate. There will be live music, a barbecue, stalls, fancy dress, bouncy castle and a raffle which has a first prize of a week’s holiday in a Spanish villa. The fundraising will go towards adapting Jonathan’s home. Contact [email protected].

SOUTH YORKSHIRE TRANSPORT MUSEUM: Played host to 35 members of the Doncaster branch of the National Trust on August 13. The facility houses 240,000 square feet of archives, vehicles and memorabilia from 1900s to present, relating to all forms of transport. Groups, club secretaries, school teachers can call any Saturday 10am-3pm to see what is available or go to www.sytm.co.uk to arrange a visit. New members welcome to assist in restoration projects, general duties, helping with school visits, conducting for weddings or archive work.
