ST BEDE’S CHURCH: The Rotherham deanery is holding a day for readers, ministers and catechists led by Mgr John Ryan on October 3 in Wickersley Parish Hall 10am, to conclude with mass with Bishop Ralph 3pm, with commissioning for these ministries.

ST PAUL’S CHURCH: Family communion was celebrated on September 6 at 10.30am, Rev Charles Grice officiating. Following the service, Payton-Anne Clarke was baptised by Rev Grice. Family Communion will be celebrated on Sunday with Rev Charles Grice officiating. Holy Communion will be celebrated on Wednesday 11am followed by a meeting of Lunch Club. There is a box in church for any donations of tinned food, biscuits, perfumes etc for The Shiloh Project. Soup and roll lunches on alternate Wednesdays are now suspended until mid-September. The Rotherham Local History Society will meet at St Paul’s on September 19 10.30am. The subject is Listed Buildings in Rotherham, cost £2. The society will meet each month, annual subscription £12. A visit to Wentworth Woodhouse stately home is being arranged for mid-October at a cost of £15. Anyone interested, contact churchwardens. Harvest supper with bingo on October 3 7pm, cost £5, tickets available from churchwardens.
