KIVETON PARK INDEPENDENT ADVICE CENTRE: A drop-in session, with no appointment necessary, will be held on Tuesday 10am-noon at the Community Library in Dinnington. COUNTY FA HISTORIAN SEEKS HELP: Football historians are seeking to unearth a cup final result involving one of Dinnington’s best ever teams. In 1947, Dinnington Athletic reached the final of the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA Senior Cup – this area’s most prestigious local cup competition – and were due to meet neighbours Thurcroft Welfare but, during research for a complete record of local cup winners, FA historians could find no record of the game or result and would like to hear from anyone who has any knowledge of the event which was scheduled for May 1947.
