Westby Avenue: Love really is in the air!

2011 is set to be the year of love.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are not too full from all that food and drink.

So the count down to 2011 is well and truly on. 2010 for me has been a magical whirlwind full of happiness and major milestones.

It was stressful at times but overall I loved every minute and could not have asked for a more wonderful year.

2011 is already shaping to be just as special with not one, not two, not three but FOUR of my friends planning to tie the knot-with a fifth sporting a diamond following her Boxing Day surprise.

The first festive announcement came from my dear friend and former housemate Emma Moran who has just got engaged to her legend of a boyfriend Jim Glover.

The news has been welcomed by everyone here in Rotherham where the handsome couple has many close friends and family.

Good luck to them both, they deserve a life full of love and happiness and together I’m certain that they will have just that.

My wonderful friend Annabel Baker also got engaged to her beautiful boyfriend Rhys making it an extra sparkly end to the year. Congrats and good luck to you both. How very exciting!

So, with a jam-packed diary, sadly it’s time to end the period of hibernation I have been enjoying and put away the biscuits and blankets and get back on track with my health.

I have missed going to the gym and swimming but I have to stay I’ve had very little spare time and who wants to strip down to a bathing costume in this weather?

Excuses, excuses—I know but I am looking forward to getting back into shape for all next year’s occasions.

Fortunately all eyes won’t be on me this time but that’s no excuse. People have already joked with me that you let yourself go once you’re married, but I refuse to do so (anymore than I already have anyway).

Apart from anything I can’t afford to buy new clothes! So it looks like the only way forward is on a treadmill.

I’m not going to make getting fit my new year’s resolution, even being a bride myself didn’t scare me into doing that.

No, I think my new year’s resolution is to stop worrying and getting stressed.

I’ve never been very good at relaxing but I’m going to make it my aim to chill out next year.
