Village show returns to Thorpe Hesley and Scholes

A POPULAR village show is making a comeback later this month.

The fifth Thorpe Hesley and Scholes Village Show will be taking place at Trinity Community Centre in Thorpe Hesley on Saturday, September 19.

Show classes include vegetables, flowers, fruit, cookery, handicrafts, children’s and floral art and the organisers want people to enter as many classes as they can, while taking in all the usual displays, stalls and attractions.

Entries can be brought to the hall from 8.30am until 11.00am on the day.

New for this year is a dog show at 12.30pm, with classes including”Dog most like its owner”.  

The show opens at 11am with an entry fee of £1 per adult.  

Other attractions include Jill Hyde Leigh Dancing school display, Apex Sound, Wentworth Youth Theatre, pony rides, vintage cars, birds of prey, stalls, licensed bar serving real ales, Zumba and martial arts displays, face painting, children’s games, food, drink and ice creams.

Free programmes are available from the Community Centre, Holy Trinity Church and local shops and pubs.
