The 14-year-old’s Wix website reached the attention of videographer Devin Graham, who has 5.4 million followers on his devinsupertramp channel.

And the talented youngster, who trains at Nova City in Rotherham, was treated to a dream trip to hang out and jump around with US free-running star Calen Chan.

Elise said: “It was pretty cool to go to the airplane graveyard in the Mojave Desert. I never thought I would get to try parkour in those conditions and really test my abilities.”

Parkour is the art of getting from one point to another within a complex area with no equipment and in the fastest way possible.

And Year 9 pupil Elise said: “I’ve always been really active - climbing, jumping and running, and when I first discovered parkour, I realised that I could do all of these things in an even more fun way.

“My mum wasn’t keen to let me try it at first, as she was worried that I would really hurt myself doing dangerous things.

“However, I think she’s now fairly persuaded that I don’t do random flips and things onto concrete and that I always prep each move and assess it for how safe it is.

“Parkour is hard work but great fun. There’s always something new to learn and a new challenge to have a go at.”

Elise began taking part at 11 and was competing - and winning - at international level in the 2017 Airwipp Challenge in Sweden.

It was Elise’s Wix website which caught the eye of Devin, who invited her stateside as part of Wix’s Up For Anything video series. The aim is to celebrate people’s passions, raise their profiles and inspire others.

And Elise, of Sheffield, said she would like to see more girls take up parkour, adding: “It’s not all competitive like other sports.

“It’s a community which accepts everybody at their own level and really encourages each other to be the best that they can be.

“It’s exciting to see other athletes do amazing things and this inspires me to do more. I also love training with other people in different places in this country and abroad.”
