Try your hand at sailing during club open days

WANNABE sailors have the chance to try their hand on the water at two club open days this month.

Rotherham Sailing Club will be inviting people to give sailing a go at its open day at Harthill Reservoir on Sunday, May 19.

Free sailing taster sessions will be held between 1-5pm, with an experienced instructor going out on the water with visitors.

There will also be the chance to find out more about the club and its sailing courses.

Alternatively, people are welcome to just go along and enjoy a fun day by the water.

Visitors should bring spare dry clothes, old shoes or trainers and a towel.

Refreshments will be available in the club house.

Royal Yachting Association-affiliated clubs across the country will be inviting people to try their hand at sailing during May with Push the Boat Out events and the one at Ulley Sailing Club takes place on Saturday, May 4, between 10am and 4pm, with free sailing taster sessions on offer.
