THEATRE PREVIEW: Last Laugh Comedy Club at The Civic this Saturday

COMEDY’s ginger Viking will host a monthly laugh club this Saturday, with three top acts appearing alongside.

Improv comic Chris Brooker made history in 2008, when he became the first foreign player in the All-Star team at the ComedySportz World Championship.

After a decade on the UK comedy circuit, Chris has forged a reputation for himself as a stand-up comedian and compère.

The first of the three acts he will introduce this month is musical comedian Christian Reilly.

On his way around the world, he received accolades at international festivals and numerous network TV credits in the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

His comic songs, improvisations, sharp wit and youthful energy have delighted audiences wherever he performs.

Next up is Harry Stachini, who started performing comedy at 18 and has won various new act competitions and gong shows since then.

Now establishing himself as a strong new act on the comedy circuit, his easy-going style and a likeable character appeal to audiences nationwide.

Last will be Steve Shanyaski, who has performed to audiences as diverse as bikers in a field and royalty in a theatre.

He has rapidly become a solid choice for major comedy venues like the Comedy Store, Glee Club and Jongleurs.

Last Laugh Comedy Club takes place at The Civic in Barnsley this Saturday, September 22, starting at 8pm.

Tickets cost £12 — visit www.barnsleycivic.co.uk or call 01226 327000 for more information and to book.
