The sky's the limit at RSPB's Old Moor bird reserve event
RSPB Old Moor at Manvers is one of scores of venues around the country hosting events under the banner of the BBC’s Stargazing Live scheme, which aims to get Britons more interested in the sky at night.
Constellations and Cormorants at RSPB Old Moor will be held on Saturday from 3pm to 6.30pm and will be hosted by staff from Old Moor and the Mexborough and Swinton Astronomical Society.

Hide AdIt includes a guided walk to see birds come home to roost followed by stargazing at the night sky.
An Old Moor spokeswoman said: “The evening will start with a choice of three walks to our hides to watch our wonderful winter wildfowl come in to roost. “You may even see the barn owls return to their nests or even our elusive bitterns settling down in the reed beds.
“Following the walks the astronomy society will be on hand to show you the wonders of the night sky through their powerful telescopes.
“In the classroom will be amazing film footage of the stars presented by the astronomy society.

Hide Ad“Meanwhile in the visitor centre there will be a demonstration of a planetarium to show you the wider planetary systems.
“Up in our cafe, you will be able to watch new footage of earth from the International Space Station while you warm up with soup and hot drinks.”
