The Beehive is the bees' knees!

ROTHERHAM landlady Emma Swan is toasting winning a top award just a month after taking over her pub from her parents.

The Rotherham branch of the Campaign for Real Ale has named the Beehive, on Union Street, Harthill, as its pub of the year.

Emma, 30, took over the pub from parents Jim and Hilary in March,

She added: “It’s a great boost for me and the pub because I’ve only just taken charge and

I’m working to refurbish it from top to bottom. Things are really starting to come together.”

The Rotherham branch of CAMRA judged all the pubs in the borough on a points scoring system throughout the year to determine their overall winner, with 50 per cent of marks being awarded for quality beers
