Test your triathlon skills in Tata's Kids of Steel challenge

TATA Steel is urging South Yorkshire youngsters to have-a-go at one of the UK’s fastest growing sports when the Tata Kids of Steel triathlon returns to the region in July.

The free event, which takes place at Maltby Leisure Centre on July 11, is one of 24 Tata Kids of Steel triathlons being staged in the UK this year. The aim of the scheme is to encourage children to experience the sport of triathlon in a safe environment.

Mick Hood, HR director for Tata Steel’s speciality steels business, said: “Last year’s event was a great success with nearly 700 children taking part.

“We are hoping to build on that success this year and we are urging as many youngsters as possible to make the most of this opportunity to try out such an exciting and challenging sport.

“Our aim is to get children excited about sport and to encourage participation in triathlon at a grass roots level.

“Tata Kids of Steel gives youngsters the chance to try this popular sport in a fun, safe and non-competitive environment.
