STAFF were treated to afternoon tea as Rotherham Hospice marked International Nurses’ Day on Tuesday.

Chief executive Sally Napper said the charity recognised not only its incredible nursing team but all staff, who are continuing to provide care and support during the current challenges.

Patients, families and supporters have been asked to send in photos and videos of thanks to the hospice. These will be compiled and shared via social media.

A hospice spokeswoman said: “The hospice arranged for all of staff in work on Tuesday to receive an individual afternoon tea.

“It was a double celebration of nursing, as May 12 was also the 200th birthday of the lady who inspired the day and was the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale.”
