DANCERS are making moves in a bid to perform at a hallowed seaside resort known as the ballroom capital of the world.

Dancemania dance school is fundraising in a bid to cover the costs of the dance students’ trip to Blackpool’s Winter Gardens in November.

The school, based in Brampton Bierlow on Knollbeck Lane above Cortonwood Miner’s Welfare Club, is hosting a race night next month.

Dance teacher Sarah Wilson said: “We are trying to raise £2,500 which will cover the children’s entrance fees to the dance show, costumes and travel.

“The show is called Chance to Dance — we are performing a ten-minute routine.

“Twenty of us will be going, ranging from four to 15-year-olds.

“Everyone is quite excited — we want to give the kids an opportunity to dance on a renowned stage.”
