He said he was “exceptionally proud” of every student for throwing themselves into fundraising activities, and added the charity gala “promises to be quite the spectacle”.

Nick said: “It is endearing to see the children develop compassion, by dedicating themselves to such a worthwhile cause, while their teamwork, focus and perseverance will stay with them far beyond April's performance.

Choreographed by Nick and Hannah Bloomer, principal of Stagecoach Barnsley, the special event will see 200 students from all four schools, aged between four and 18, take to the stage in a musical extravaganza.

The students, who are currently working very hard in rehearsals will sing, dance and act.

“It is important for the students to give back to the local community and the YAS has a special place in our hearts,” Nick said.

“At Stagecoach, we aim to unlock ‘Creative Courage for Life’ in all our students and want to inspire them to address the issues that shape the world around them.”

Parents, friends and family are all invited to attend the exclusive black-tie event to be held at the Magna Science Adventure Centre from 5pm.

Guests will be treated to a three-course dinner and following the performance, will have the chance to dance the night away themselves to music from local band, Electric Idols.
