The festival will include multiple performances of many of William Shakespeare’s best-known plays performed by drama students.

The theatre hope to use the festival as an opportunity demonstrate how much young people can connect with the themes and ideas of Shakespeare's work and reinvigorate the writer in a new generation.

“We’re so excited to be able to explore and share in our love of all of Shakespeare’s plays." said A Mind Apart’s event and adult course coordinator, Joe Thompson.

“We want to use his work and the amazing minds of our creative people to build a festival that can celebrate both.

“Each performance will be taken up by one of the many evening classes that A Mind Apart run.”

The company’s class and community coordinator, Amy Rydelewski, said: “We are so enthusiastic about our young people being an active participant in the creation of these performances.

“We had to make sure they felt like more than actors in this process, we wanted them to feel like creators.”

The festival will include one performance running from 11am until 1pm and one from 2pm until 5pm.
