Sparkles and sorcery at charity soiree

AN APOTHECARY to the magical will host a diamond evening of gemstones and fine wines, in aid of its work inspiring young writers.

Grimm & Co will welcome an award-winning, professional gemmologist to its sparkly soiree at its town centre premises next Wednesday.

Jewellery specialist Helen Dimmick began her her career at Tiffany & Co, and is now managing director of Chesterfield jewellers Green + Benz.

She will take attendees on a whistle-stop tour of precious stones, while they enjoy canapes and specially-selected wines from MW Wines.

    The literacy charity’s resident wizard will also entertain with magic tricks, before founding director Deborah Bullivant whisks guests through its works.

    Guests will each receive a goodie bag, including a one-off publication of children’s writing.

    The event takes place from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday, July 25 — tickets cost £20, with proceeds helping to fund the charity’s work.
