South Yorkshire youngsters share wrestling bill with top UK pros

YOUNG South Yorkshire wrestlers will be grappling with top professionals at a special UWE Wrestling Academy show this weekend.

Organiser Bradlee Taylor, of Swinton, who will be appearing himself as Brad Flash, said: “The event is designed to show off to the UK what great upcoming wrestling talent we have here in Dearne Valley.”

The event will feature a mixture of trainees and top professionals including America's Mr Number 1 Jonny Rose, Viken The Vampire, Aldershot's “Superfly” Robbie Idol, Brighton's Robbie Kaos and a rare appearance from UWE Champion, “'Heavyweight Horror” Brutus Pain.

Two of the youngest UWE students, Jordan Ireland and Brad Severns, both 14, will compete in a match with Mexican sensation El Santiago while other UWE youngsters who will be appearing include Karl Connors (Conisborough) and Jack Dynamo (Conisborough).

The event is on Saturday January 15 at Denaby and Cadeby Miners' Welfare. Doors open at 7pm.
