CAOS MTS — formerly known as Chapeltown Amateur Operatic Society — is scouting out a cast for Thoroughly Modern Millie, to be staged at Rotherham Civic Theatre next April.

The group has been entertaining audiences across South Yorkshire since 1924, performing in many venues over the years.

Members currently rehearse on Wednesday nights between 7.45pm and 10pm, at the school room behind High Green Methodist church in Sheffield.

There is no audition to become a member — applicants just need a willingness to get involved and have fun.

Some of the group’s newest members are old hands at am-dram, while others have never been on stage.

Membership is open to all people aged 16+ at the time the show is performed, with current ages ranging from 16 to 84.
