Santa Dash returns in memory of Hana

FESTIVE fundraising fun returns to Manvers Lake next month.

Runners will be taking part in a fun run route in memory of teacher Hana Szczepkowski, who  died of cancer aged only 31. This Santa Dash and fun run aim to keep Hana’s memory alive and raise funds for the cancer charity Team Verrico, who gave her hope and support throughout her illness.

The event takes place from 9.30am on Saturday, December 4, starting from the boathouse at Manvers Lake.

Participants can pick from the one-lap fun run at 9.30am or the Santa Dash from 10am, taking in up to three laps.

Boat club chair said: “This charity dash and fun run has been held at Manvers for a number of years and we are delighted that it is going ahead this year after Covid put a stop to it in 2020.

“Not only is it great fun, but money is being raised for a great cause.”

Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children and finishers will receive a festive commemorative medal.

Once you sign up, you will have the opportunity to download a sponsor form to print off at home and raise even more money for this amazing charity.

Prizes will be awarded for best fancy dress and fastest time and distance covered.

Refreshments will be available in the boathouse, as well as stalls and a raffle.
