SATURDAY night was all right for squelching as Wentworth Woodhouse’s front lawn became a muddy mess — but there were few complaints.

It was a case of wellies at the ready after a crowd of grooving music fans enjoyed a nostalgic line-up at the third Wentworth Music Festival.

S Club (below) performed a hit-packed set in the early evening, before 80s icon Tony Hadley (pictured, above, on stage with his band and festival organisers Toby Foster and Steve White) treated fans to almost an hour-and-a-half of pop and soul as smooth as silk.

Earlier in the day, Dr and the Medics, Soul Sensation, Republica and Abba Revival had added to the retro feel, while hit-writer Eliot Kennedy was joined by a big band and a host of singers for a collection of his chart smashes.

A kids’ activity tent, comedy tent starring the likes of Justin Moorhouse and Rob Rouse and a new music stage headed by Kiziah and the Kings rounded off the attractions.
