Rotherham prepares for Red Nose Day bonanza

Red Nose Day is being marked around the borough with a range of events, including bake sales, slimming parties and gruelling exercise sessions.

Anston Park Infant School will be flying the flag for fun baking with a Reception Goes Red baking and craft day, while youngsters will be practising their funny faces before posing in a special photobooth.

Brinsworth’s The Relaxation Den is holding a sponsored nail painting event from 10am to 4pm, while slimming company Transform Yourself are putting on a hypnoslimming party and asking everyone attending to make a £5 donation.

A £5 donation will be made for every one that attends.

Fitness fanatics can do their bit by joining in an 80s-inspired two-hour fancy dress spinathon at Fitness Junkie Studios in Dinnington from 6pm.

A more sedate time is likely to be had at The Beeches Care Home in Wath, which is holding a Comic Relief coffee morning between 10.15am and 11.15am, while one of the residents is also doing a sponsored tea drink in a bid to raise £150.
