Rotherham park project has children all fired up

CLIFTON Park was transformed into a fiery playground this weekend as the community project Tribo Fogo unleashed its tale.

Youth centre myplace collaborated with Chol Theatre, pa-BOOM and young people from Rotherham to create an outdoor travelling performance through the park.

The free event at the park’s skate park allowed visitors to step into a fantastical story told through circus, music, skating and fire.

Patrik Kondik, who regularly attends the myplace youth centre and performed circus skills at the event was really excited about the show, giving it “Ten out of ten!”

Nicola Harding, Reaching Communities project coordinator at myplace, said: “The young people at myplace have really done themselves proud.

“They have worked tremendously hard throughout the project and really pulled it out of the bag at showtime.

“It just goes to show that young people from different communities can work together to create something magical.”
