Riverbank fun for all at Wombwell show

RAT, Mole, Badger and the outrageous Toad come to the stage this week as an amateur theatre company make a welcome comeback.

Wombwell Thespians were forced into relative hibernation by coronavirus pandemic, but members are keen to welcome an audience back to the Playhouse Theatre from tonight until Saturday for their new production of The Wind in the Willows.

Written by Kenneth Grahame and adapted for the stage by Mike Kenny, this new version of the play aims to combine the joy and mystery of the original with Kenny’s “lightness of touch and playful theatricality”, the Thespians said.
