Reytons' rallying call as they fight it out for Top 10 album chart spot

THE band who put Clifton Park on the musical map are eyeing a place in the Top 10 this weekend.

The Reytons, whose clip for the single Kids Off the Estate (also the title of their album) features a group of mates having fun in Rotherham’s historic park, are crossing their fingers for their debut disc as it fights it out with chart titans Taylor Swift and Little Mix.

Rooted in South Yorkshire, The Reytons recently filmed a video for their debut single Slice of Lime in Rotherham Tescos and shone the spotlight on Mexborough town centre for the Expectations of a Fool promo in the summer.

They are all local lads — drummer Jamie Todd is from Brampton, bassist Lee Holland is from Edlington, singer Jonny Yerrell is from Greasbrough and guitarist Joe O'Brien is from Broom.

The band played Tramlines Festival earlier this year and performed at Sheffield’s Network venue last Saturday.

And now they are a whisker away from album chart Top 10 glory.

The band said in their latest online post: “It’s all down to you guys!!!

“We’re currently at No 11 in the midweek charts and up against some of the biggest artists in the world!

“We need you now more than ever to achieve a top 10 album!

“We are so grateful for all the support you have given this band, without you we are nothing… together we might just make it happen!”

The new chart standings will be revealed on Friday.
