CARE home residents are a step closer to a paddle at the seaside after a “phenomenal” fund-raising fair.
Jubilee Care Home in Greasbrough welcomed residents’ families and the public to the event, which raised £1,104.
The proceeds will go towards fulfilling a residents’ wish list, which is headed by a day out at the seaside, followed by afternoon tea and a day at the races, while one resident has specifically asked to be christened.
Activities coordinator Debbie Jones said: “All wishes will be granted as soon as it is safe to do so.”
She said she wanted to thank everyone who had supported the event including raffle prize donors Big Smoke;
Jump IncFlated; Razzmatazz Hair by Obe; Tips n Tans; the Mill Dam pub; Funkz Hair Salon; Mike’s Books and Toys and East Dene One Stop Shop; as well as Diane Skidmore, who knitted and donated blankets, ponchos and scarves.
Debbie added: “These were very gratefully received both in the Home and at the fete. If anyone should like any item we have some left over, which can be purchased at the home 01709 557776.”
