Prize pooches bring in cash for Rain Rescue charity

TAILS were wagging and doggy donations were flooding in at a charity’s popular contest for prize pooches.

The sun shone brightly for Rotherham animal charity Rain Rescue’s third annual Dog Show and Fair, which took place at Sheffield Manor Lodge.

The glorious weather attracted over 500 visitors and their pooches to enjoy the day's activities.

Alongside the main dog show the charity hosted mini agility for wannabe dog trainers as well as a range of stall holders selling anything from dog treats to fantastic artwork.

Lauren Sanderson, deputy charity manager, said: “Every year the event just gets bigger and better. It's a fantastic day out for all the family.

“We work closely with our venue Sheffield Manor Lodge to cater for all ages.

“It's hard work but the day was brilliant all thanks to our fantastic team of staff, volunteers and supporters.”

The much desire Best in Show rosette went to Jack Russell Molly with Reserve Best In Show being handed to Austin the Malamute.

The show raised over £2,000 for the charity and planning is already starting for next year’s event on September 10.
