PREVIEW: Classic fairytale to be re-told as pantomime at Lyric Theatre

THE CLASSIC fairytale of the ‘street rat’ who falls for the beautiful princess will be re-told as an pantomime for the whole family at the Lyric Theatre.

Dinnington Theatre Company will perform Aladdin from Saturday, January 18 until Saturday, January 25.

Aladdin (Alexandra Fergusson) lives in Peking, China, with his mother Widow Twankey (John Green) and his silly brother Wishee Washee (Ashley Booker).

Aladdin falls in love with the beautiful Princess Jasmine (Milly Ducker) but is not allowed to marry her because he’s not a wealthy man.

The wicked sorcerer Abanazar (Andrew Darksus) wants to be the most powerful being in the universe but needs the help of the Genie of the lamp (Mark Wareing) which is currently in the cave of wonders.

Only a true and honest youth can enter the cave — step forward, Aladdin!

Tickets, which are £12 for adults and £10 for children and pensioners, are available here.
