Prepare for Royal Wedding number two

WE have only just stopped doting over Kate Middleton’s wedding dress and marvelling at the future King in all his splendour.

Now another Royal Wedding is just days away.

The Queen's oldest granddaughter Zara Phillips (30) is set to marry long-term boyfriend and rugby union player Mike Tindall (32) in a low-key affair at the Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland on Saturday, July 30.

The couple who met during England’s Rugby World Cup-winning campaign in Australia in 2003, announced their engagement on December 21, 2010, after dating for seven years.

Mike Tindall, who plays for Premiership side Gloucester and the England national team proposed at their Gloucestershire home.

The reception is to be held at Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh which is the Queen’s official home in Scotland.

Canongate Kirk, which is the parish church of Edinburgh Castle and where the Queen worships when at residence at Holyroodhouse, was completed in 1691.

Rev Neil Gardner, minister of Canongate Kirk and domestic chaplain to the Queen in Scotland, said: “I am delighted that it has been announced that Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall are to be married in Canongate Kirk, the Kirk of Holyroodhouse.”

Miss Phillips has shocked us all by opting against a high-fashion dress similar to Kate Middleton’s Sarah Burton design and has instead chosen a wedding dress designed by her grandmother the Queen's favourite couturier.

The 30-year-old former eventing world champion has enlisted the services of Stewart Parvin.

Fear not though fashionistas! Parvin is the youngest Royal couturier so there is no doubt the Equestrian’s dress will still be modern and stylish.

Unfortunately, no further details about the dress are known so we will have to wait until the big day to see what the bride will be sporting.

What has been assumed is that Miss Phillips will opt for a classic design rather than a dress in-line with current trends.

Whatever the dress, bouquet, bridesmaids, rings or cake, one things for sure, this is certainly an occasion you’ll want to keep up-to-date with.
