Wath and Riverside Libraries both put on a day of taster activities for visitors on Saturday.

Lego building, bell ringing and hand massage also made the list.

Fun Palaces is an ongoing national campaign for culture which culminates in an annual weekend of action — arts, science, craft and tech events run by and for local communities — with the motto “Everyone an artist and everyone a scientist”.

A borough council spokeswoman said: “The aim is to encourage local people to join in and learn something new — whether it's knitting or coding!”
