Pet store’s hot weather advice day

A PET store is holding a workshop this Saturday on how to protect animals in hot weather conditions.

Pets at Home in Parkgate will host the event to give owners advice on how to ensure pets stay cool and healthy in the heat.

A range of topics such as walking pets in the sun and keeping them hydrated, plus how to travel with furry friends, will be covered.

Shane Booker, store manager, said: “As the weather heats up some independent animals, like cats, will naturally find their own cool, shady spots when they get too hot, whereas others like dogs and rabbits aren't so proactive.

“This workshop will give pet owners information on the extra measures they need to take, in order to keep pets healthy and safe, so that they can enjoy the summer together.”

The event on Saturday, July 19 will run from noon to 1pm.
