Opera Boys warming up for Rotherham Civic concert this week

The operatic foursome performed on the historic cruise liner as part of its tenth anniversary alongside the National Symphony Orchestra and on the maiden voyage of the cruise ship Britannia.

IT may not be the QE2, but the Opera Boys will be hoping their concert in Rotherham proves plain sailing this week.

But the Rob, Colin, Michael and Richard are happily back on dry land and en route to the Civic Theatre on Friday.

Made up of leading men from a host of West End musicals, the Opera Boys combine to deliver opera, pop and everything in between.

Expect opera favourites like Nessun Dorma to Time to say Goodbye and showstoppers from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Jersey Boys.

The show also features brand new classical arrangements of modern day pop hits.

The Boys trained at some of the UK’s finest schools, including The Royal Academy of Music, and have each become successful performers in their own right.

Between them they have performed lead roles on London's West End and on Broadway in New York and performed as backing vocalists to the likes of Russell Watson, Robbie Williams, Tom Jones and Elton John.

One of the Boys, Les Mis veteran Michael Storrs, will have had a nostlagic eye on Tel Aviv last weekend as he appeared as part of the Belgian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets priced at £19.50 are available at https://rotherhamtheatres.ticketsolve.com/shows, on 01709 823621 or at the Civic in person.
