Musical workshop at Maltby

MALTBY’S Wesley Centre will host a workshop for guitarists and songwriters as part of the national Big Gig initiative next month.

The centre on Blyth Road, which is home to a music club, will also be showcasing roots and acoustic music during the event from 7.30pm on July 12.

The Rock at Maltby, who have been going for 38 years, regularly put on roots and acoustic music concerts.

Dearne Culture Trust, which organises Wath Festival, is also putting on an event at Montgomery Hall in Wath from 7pm on July 13.

It will be a mix of traditional acoustic, roots and folk music and there will be a chance for audience participation in Samba drumming and singing.

Our Big Gig is a community music celebration which takes place across the UK from July 11-14.

This annual event aims to bring communities together to celebrate their local musical talents and get more people involved in music making.

All Our Big Gig events are free and organised by local volunteers.
