Miss South Yorkshire finalist planning Bluebell Wood collection at Rotherham Show

A CANDIDATE for the title of Miss South Yorkshire will be hoping to win over supporters tomorrow — and it’s all in aid of Bluebell Wood.

Lorna Stratford will be making a collection at the Rotherham Show for the children’s hospice, which is the competition’s chosen charity.

Lorna (24, pictured) lives in Sheffield and works at Weldricks pharmacy in Catcliffe.

She said she was keen to raise as much as possible for the hospice ahead of the Miss South Yorkshire final on September 29.

“They do so much for children,” said Lorna. “And I have extra reason to support them — I lost a friend, Emma Knight, to a brain tumour and they looked after her right to the end of her life.

“I now have a platform to shout about and raise money for this amazing children’s charity, as it’s very close to my heart.”

Look out for Lorna — who is also planning a car boot sale — collecting in her Bluebell Wood T-shirt at the show tomorrow.
