Mental health charity to benefit from Rotherham house music night

Julie McKnight will take the stage at 1915 Bar & Bistro, Domine Lane, on Sunday belting out dancefloor bangers spanning her long career.

Proceeds from the show, which starts at 8pm, will go to Rotherham and Barnsley Mind.

The Pennsylvania-born singer provided vocals on floor-filling classics like Finally, Home and Diamond Life.

She has also featured on records by big-name DJs like David Guetta, Little Louie Vega and Sandy Rivera.

Her work with Rivera — recording under the name Kings of Tomorrow — won Song of the Year at the 2001 MTV2 Dancestar Music Awards.

In February, Rotherham and Barnsley Mind received news it would lose funding of £152,000 per year, under Rotherham Borough Council cuts.

There is room for just 250 people at the gig.

Tickets are free, with a recommended £7 donation to Rotherham and Barnsley Mind.
