RUNNERS are being encouraged to try a sport which tests both endurance and map skills.
South Yorkshire Orienteers is holding a Regional Urban Event in Wingfield and Rockingham next Sunday.
Orienteering is a cross-country type of event where runners have to find their own way round the course.
The urban orienteering course, which has been mapped and planned by Henry Marston, will give people a chance to explore some parts of Wingfield and Rockingham they have never seen before.
Routes range in distance from 0.7km to 7.6km and will be open from 10am to noon.
The event centre will be based at Rockingham Junior and Infant School in Roughwood Road.
You can enter in advance via www.fabian4.co.uk or on the day in person.
The fee for adults is £10 and £4 for juniors and students.
