Making friends with meerkats is simples!

YOUNGSTERS visiting a wildlife centre to “compare the meerkats” were welcomed with open paws.

Meerkats at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre at North Anston were more than happy to pose for photos with their guest, seven-year Chloe Feetham.

Chloe, from Brinsworth, seemed a welcome guest inside Meerkat Mansion, the centre's dedicated enclosure which houses a growing family of meerkats.

She was at the centre to enjoy a Keeper Experience, enabling her to go behind the scenes at the centre.

The Keeper Experience service has proved a hit with families, wildlife enthusiasts and photographers since being launched earlier this year.

Head keeper Chrissie Jackson said: "Meerkats are naturally inquisitive, especially ours who are used to visitors and enjoy all the attention they attract.

“They made Chloe feel right at home.

“Our breeding pair of meerkats has produced two cubs this year - one in May and another just a few weeks ago.”
