I SHOULD start with a confession — seeing Anne-Marie perform at the 02 Academy in Sheffield was only the third time I’ve been to a live music show.

At the age of 31, I must have been living under a rock or something, you would be forgiven for thinking.

It’s just something I’ve never really got around to doing — witnessing music as it should be, live and unedited — but I promise to get out there more in the future.

Back to the sell-out performance of the moment...

I must say that standing up for four hours straight killed my feet (wearing little pumps was not my greatest idea) but it was worth the pain and I would do it again tomorrow.

Kicking off the show was Lennon Stella.

I admit I had no clue who she was until she performed an acoustic version of Polaroid, which she normally performs alongside former One Direction favourite Liam Payne and Jonas Blue.

One dedicated fan even took their own polaroid of Lennon and handed it to her.

Her music was enjoyable and made for very easy listening.

I had no idea she was just 19 and just starting out but more people will no doubt know her name before the year is out after she’s had the opportunity to join an established artist like Anne-Marie on tour — one for the future.

Time for the main event, and Anne-Marie emerged on stage with her bobbed blonde hair and all black outfit.

Hher energy and enthusiasm from start to finish was amazing, as were her vocals.

And boy, can she belt out a tune — she didn’t drop one note!

It was refreshing to watch an artist on stage have a genuine passion for her music and performing.

Anne-Marie was so full of life and very energetic — I couldn’t keep my feet still.

I enjoyed singing along to her newer tracks, which included Perfect, 2002 and Friends, as well as seeing her throw in the classics, Ciao Adios and Alarm.

Not forgetting my still all-time favourite Rockabye.

Anne-Marie even stopped the song halfway through to jump off stage to grab a picture with a few of her fans, as well as chucking a mic down to two youngsters and inviting them to perform Sean Paul’s rap section.

The singer has a very infectious laugh and one occasion unintentionally threw out a snort, which she said had never happened before!

If you haven’t seen Anne-Marie perform live before — make sure you do — she is incredible!
