Line-up announced for 2020 Wentworth Musical Festival

BRITPOP’S coming home to Wentworth next summer — with the Lightning Seeds lined up to headline the village’s biggest party.

The line-up was announced tonight for Wentworth Music Festival tonight, with the Three Lions chart-toppers (above) topping the bill

Britpop idols Space, 90s pop stars Rozalla and Kenny Thomas and top 10 act The Feeling will also grace the stage in front of the country’s widest-fronted stately home on June 6 next year.

Festival organisers Toby Foster and Steve White officially launched the festival at the Rockingham Arms in Wentworth at an event which saw them interviewed by Hallam FM’s  Simon Morykin and a performance by duo Graceful Harmony, who played the New Music Stage this year. 

The main stage will be opened by Tiny Barbara’s Surf Club, fronted by Big Shaun the lead singer of Everly Pregnant Brothers, and Toby Foster. 

There will be a mid-afternoon What follows is an afternoon 80s and 90s party curated by local legends Jive Bunny and The Mastermixers with live guests Rozalla, Hazell Dean, Dario G and Kenny Thomas.

 

Festival favorites Soul Sensation will be back followed by Complete Madness.

Space, known for hits like Neighbourhood and Female Of The Species, take things through to the evening, followed by Bang Bang Romeo, The Feeling and finally — a week before Euro 2020 —  The Lightning Seeds.

Comedy fans can check out the Last Laugh Comedy Stage, while the New Music Tent puts six local bands in the spotlight.

The Kids’ Village fun fair and food and drink stalls are all making a comeback.
