LETTER: Financial institutions have threatened our country

THE weekly rants from some letter contributors to the Advertiser on whether Corbyn will become Prime Minister are becoming desperate.

They paint a picture so far from the truth it’s becoming a Bogeyman tale; if you vote Labour the Bogeyman will get you.

Since 1945, the end of World War Two, this country in the 74 years since has had one incident that threatened our country.

This threat to our lives came in 2007/2008 when far right corrupt bankers nearly destroyed our way of life.

The bankers gave birth to austerity and of course no one was punished, only the working families who had to use the food banks.

These food banks have opened weekly while the High Street banks have closed to pay back the Labour Party plan to help them and us to survive.

So all this clap-trap about who is a danger to this country, look no further than financial institutions who have cooked the books for donkey’s years.

When cuts have been the order of the day for the last nine years and we have seen disabled, old and child day care centres closed, alongside libraries and hospitals, our right honourable leaders have seen their pay packets leap above inflation and now get £79,468, a rise of 15.5 per cent. No austerity there.
