Kids go back in time for historical drama

CHILDREN went back in time almost 700 years as they started their summer holidays with a dose of historical drama. Sixteeen youngsters took part in the three-day Summer Drama Club at Conisbrough Castle Summer Drama Club.

Sixteeen youngsters took part in the three-day Summer Drama Club at Conisbrough Castle Summer Drama Club.

Helen Keighley, community projects manager at the castle, said: “With the help of two drama teachers, the children devised, rehearsed and performed the story of the 1317 castle siege with a modern musical twist.”

The drama club was organised by English Heritage and Doncaster Youth Service. was supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
