Industrial history at Elsecar

FANS of industrial history can get the chance to see Elsecar Heritage Centre’s newly-conserved Newcomen Beam Engine in action on a number of days in August and September.

A tour of the centre and its 1795 Newcomen Engine – one of the most important machines developed during the Industrial Revolution – will take place on August 5, August 12, August 19 and September 2.

The cost is £3 per person and places must be booked in advance on 01226 740203 for the event at the centre on Wath Road, Elsecar.
