Indie kings James on course for South Yorkshire

INDIE legends James are the latest big musical name lined up to gallop into Doncaster this summer.

The veteran hit-makers, who followed up their breakthrough smash Sit Down in 1991 with a series of other chart successes, will perform at Doncaster Racecourse after racing on Saturday, August 17.

The Mancunian band are regular performers to sell-out crowds, having produced 15 studio albums dating back to the 1980s and most recently the 2018 hit Living in Extraordinary Times.

Pop star Jess Glynne is also in the Doncaster diary with her own outdoor gig on May 18, while July’s headline act is Madness, who race into town on July 20.

The June performers have yet to be announced.

Russell Smith, executive director at Doncaster Racecourse, said: “We are thrilled to welcome some superb live music acts to Doncaster Racecourse this summer.

“The calibre of artists we are attracting to Doncaster, is testament to the fantastic music acts that have entertained crowds in previous years, all of which have helped to put Doncaster on the map.”
