Husband and wife bring folk to Maltby

HUSBAND and wife duo Megan will be bringing their blend of folk to Maltby later this month.

The duo, formed from Stu and Debbie Hanna, draw heavily on their Teesside heritage to create their own brand of folk music.

And they will be making an appearance in Rotherham when they perform at the Wesley Centre in Maltby, at 7pm on Saturday, January 29.

Four times nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and double winners of the Spiral Earth Awards, Megson are promoting their new album Unknown Waters.

As well as providing vocals, the duo’s music weaves harmonies and driving rhythmic guitars.

Debs plays whistle and piano accordion, while Stu wields the guitar, mandola and banjo.

Their album Contradicshun won folk album of the week recognition from the Sunday Times and folk broadcaster Mike Harding is also a firm fan.

Tickets priced at £16.50 are available on 01709 811118.
