History talk tonight on managing huge estate in 19th century

VISITORS can hear about life at an historic residence at a talk being held this evening (Friday, March 16).

Aunt Fanny’s Account Book – Life at Firbeck Hall in the Nineteenth Century, an illustrated talk and historical display, will take place at 7.30pm at Firbeck Village Hall.

Frances Harriott Miles lived at Firbeck Hall with her sister-in-law Eliza Miles from 1853 – 1877 and was affectionately known by the family as Aunt Fanny.

Her account book, dating from 1866 -1870, together with research from the Friends of Firbeck Hall group, gives a fascinating insight into managing a huge estate in the nineteenth century.

The entry fee, including light refreshments, is £4 per person.
