History from across the Dearne on display at fair
MP ED Miliband did the honours when he opened the Mexborough Heritage Festival.
The event, organised by Mexborough and District Heritage Society, took place at Mexborough Library on Friday (May 11), and was packed with stalls celebrating the history of Mexborough and the Dearne Valley district.
There were groups representing Mexborough, Conisbrough, Denaby, Barnburgh, Harlington, Thurnscoe, Doncaster, Rotherham and the Royal British Legion.
The free event also featured an exhibition of paintings of the Mexborough area and an exhibition by Derek Allport.
