Zankyou wedding list service is taking part in the Tree-Nation project, offering all couples who activate an on-line wedding list a tree to be planted in their names.

Tree-Nation is a social network dedicated to planting trees, fighting poverty, deforestation and climate change.

Internet users visit the website, select the trees that they want to plant, choose a location and then Tree-Nation will plant those trees with the support of the local population.

You can track the development of trees and arrange for them to be gifted to others - perhaps as a thank-you gift for your wedding party.

You can also meet and interact with other people who have already planted trees.

“The trees planted on behalf of Zankyou couples will be part of our wedding forest in Niger.

“Zankyou has selected acacias, which are highly valuable due to their very long root systems which allows them to capture water from underground deposits.

“This means they can restore the soil and enhance its fertility.

“These trees are used in desert conditions and their size - large and robust - perfectly represents the enduring love that exists between our couples.”
