Have you got a treasure in the attic?

ANTIQUES experts will be on hand to value the treasures in your attic on Wednesday.

A team led by Charles Hanson of Hanson's Auctioneers of Derbyshire will be holding a valuation day at Clifton Park Museum to cast their eyes over the public’s heirlooms.

The event is open to anyone to take along their own items.

Charles Hanson is famous for his regular appearances on the BBC’s Bargain Hunt, Flog It and the new BBC show Antiques Road Trip.

Anyone wanting an item valued will be able to buy tickets on the day. Tickets will cost £1 for the first three items and then £1 for each additional item.

Wendy Foster, senior officer visitor services at Clifton Park Museum, said: "On past visits, Charles has helped to bring history to life with his valuation days.

"It's not just about finding out how much things are worth, indeed, often the items have so much significance to the owner that they could be considered priceless, but also discovering the history behind the items.

"No matter what you have, fetch it along. It's always great to see the fascinating items people possess."
