Festive walk to help fight the flab

Residents are being invited to push the left-over turkey to one side and enjoy a refreshing post-Christmas stroll around the green gem that is Grange Park in Kimberworth.

Residents are being invited to push the left-over turkey to one side and enjoy a refreshing post-Christmas stroll around the green gem that is Grange Park.

Lead by Rotherham Council Green Spaces Officers, the “Winter Wonderland” walk, set to take place next Wednesday from 10am to noon, will set off from Millmoor Juniors, off Droppingwell Road, Kimberworth, and take a leisurely pace around the park and neighbouring woodlands.

Green Spaces Officer, Nicola Jones, said: “There’s nothing better than getting out of the house after all that rich food and enjoying Rotherham at its finest.

“The walk will be a moderate 3.5 – 4 miles, with a well deserved hot chocolate waiting at the end for the walkers.

“All the family is welcome, including the pet dog, but wrap up warm and don’t forget your sturdy walking boots."
