Famous classical works performed by choir
WORKS by Vivaldi, Faure and Tippett will feature in the programme for a choir’s spring concert this weekend.
Bel Canto will treat their audience to renditions of Fauré’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and five spirituals from Michael Tippett’s A Child of Our Time during their first musical showcase of the season at St Margaret’s Church in Swinton on Saturday evening.
The choral event, which also features Peteris Vasks’ Pater Noster, starts at 7.15pm and tickets priced £9 are available from choir members or on 01709 582026.
The choir is led by musical director Robert Webb and choirmaster and accompanist, Jonathan Gooing (CORRECT), who will accompany the singers on piano and organ, together with the string quartet.
